In recent years, the undergraduate brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha have been highly competitive in the Fraternity division of intramural sports.

For the Spring 2012 semester, the brotherhood competes in three sports: Basketball (two teams), Bowling, and Co-Rec water polo. The basketball team returns four of five starters from a group that advanced to the final four last year.  2012’s squad features the addition of former Maryland AAU point guard Kevin Yu ’15.  Thus far the basketball team has outscored its opponents by a combined 123-18 in just two games.

In 2011, Lambda Chi sent both our soccer teams, our football team, and our basketball team to the playoffs, with each team winning at least one playoff game.

Later this spring, our 2012 softball team will compete for the softball championship, returning four starters from 2010 during which Lambda Chi finished the season 9-1.  2010 was an epic year for Lambda Chi softball, which routinely routed our opponents, outscoring them by over a combined eighty runs, earning the number one seed in the playoffs and a spot in the championship game.  Returning poised to win it all in 2011, the softball team was foiled by rain which cancelled the entire season.  This year, with the addition of former high school stars Frank Rizzaro (Iona Prep) and Ryan Rizzuti (Albertus Magnus), Lambda Chi looks forward to embarrassing those teams brave enough to show up.

There are also some brothers who play club soccer.
